MAC GEORGE FINE ART PRINTS

My friend Mac George is an extremely talented visual development artist and designer who has worked at Walt Disney Feature Animation since 1988. Films such as The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Chicken Little are just a few of the many animated feature productions in which Mac has showcased his artistic talents. And now, he has a website devoted to his outstanding original art prints that are available for purchase. Mac's innate sense of pleasing design and color is evident in everyone of his creations, which make these prints perfect for the office or home. They are very classy and tasteful compositions. So check out his site and peruse the art of one the animation industry's greatest talents! By the way, just click on the above image for a larger view!

LAUREL AND HARDY FAN CLUB CREST!

I've always liked the above crest that was created by cartoonist Al Kilgore (1927-1983) for the official Laurel and Hardy fan club. The website, Jim Henson's Red Book is where I found the image.

Happy New Year, everyone!

"HE WAS ONE OF US" by RIEN POORTVLIET

The  image above is from an illustrated book on the life of Jesus titled, He Was One of Us and was beautifully drawn by Dutch artist Rien Poortvliet (1932-1995). Poortvliet was an amazingly gifted draftsman, and I really like how the book's illustrations appear as if they were some drawings from the ancient past. Here Joseph and Mary are receiving visitors that want to see the infant Jesus, who was born to die on a cross and rise again so that God and sinners could be reconciled. That's how God has demonstrated His love for us! Have a wonderful and blessed Christmas, everyone!

CHRISTMAS COMIC STRIPS!

Here are some fun Christmas-themed comic strips from my collection. First up are some Bugs Bunny strips that were produced at Warner Bros. Classic Animation when Darrell Van Citters was its director. These strips were drawn by either Bob Scott, Shawn Keller or Brett Koth:

The Flintstones comic strips below were drawn by Gene Hazelton:

And finally, the top Yogi Bear comic was drawn by Iwao Takamoto and the bottom one by Pete Alvarado:

Hope you enjoyed them! Have a very merry Christmas!

HUCKLEBERRY HOUND SHOW CHRISTMAS ART!

I came across this great Christmas image (artist unknown) featuring the Huckleberry Hound Show cast while I was working at Hanna-Barbera. I don't know if this art appeared on an employee studio Christmas card, or if it was simply used for publicity purposes. Whatever its original use was, it is a very appealing piece of cartoon art, don't you think?  Merry Christmas!

COOL EBAY FIND!

I just came across this rare and very cool Precious Pupp squeak toy on Ebay. If you're interested in bidding, you can go here. Precious is one of my favorite Hanna-Barbera characters, and it really surprised me to see a toy based on him, and so well done to boot! I won't be bidding on this myself, but best wishes to all of you who do!
